Arctic Fox is a product line intended for hikers and campers who are tired of the boring, bulky gear that’s oversaturated the market. The first launch of the product line consists of trekking poles, a torch (a 2in1 flashlight lantern hybrid), and binoculars. Arctic Fox offers a more feminine, minimalist take on products that haven’t changed much design-wise in decades. All three products have an anti-slip, ribbed texture for better grip, a curvilinear design for comfort, and adjustable wrist straps.

The Trekking Poles are made of copper brushed aluminum and silicone. It has a locking mechanism that allows an adjustable height of 53”. Both the Torch and Binoculars housing is a silicone material to protect them from light impact and mechanical influences. The glass in both products is made of Barium Crown glass (Bak-4) to provide the user with a higher refractive index and higher levels of image quality. The Torch has a 2in1 feature so the user can have the choice between using it as a flashlight or a lantern. The lantern is equipped with 360° illumination with seven high-power LEDs on four sides.

Form, Color, and Texture Studies:

The inspiration for Arctic Fox products consisted of clean lines, curvilinear forms, and ribbed textures. We wanted the line to have a lighter feel to it compared to the mainly black/dark colored products that are on the market, so we opted for more saturated colors like purples, pinks, and blues.

Final Concept:

Following the parameters set for texture and form, ideations for the trekking pole were created. The goal was to have a sleek, durable design with a comfortable grip on the handles and adjustable features.
